So you have a trip scheduled to Cancun? In this article we tell you what you should do for nothing in the world when you visit this beautiful city.

You already have everything planned, flights paid, suitcases packed, but… you still don’t know exactly what you will do while there? Well, maybe you are not sure yet (or maybe you already have your itinerary ready) and probably once you are at the destination, incredible plans will come up.

But for now we are going to warn you about what you should avoid at all costs on your next trip to the beach. We do not want you to ruin your vacation in the Caribbean and in order to avoid this, this time we tell you 6 things you should avoid to make your trip an unforgettable experience with your family and/or friends.

Are you ready to have the best vacation of your life? Follow these tips and we guarantee you will have an amazing time:

1. DON’T forget to use sunscreen

Temperatures in this tourist area can rise from 36°C to 38° C. Using sunscreen will not only protect you from the sun’s rays but you will also be able to avoid contracting skin diseases from UV rays.

The recommendation given by dermatologists for this type of climate is that during a long day at the beach a person uses around 8 oz. of sun protection, you should apply it at least 30 minutes before sun exposure so that the ingredients are effectively absorbed by your skin.

This is one of the most important recommendations because believe us, you do not want to look like a shrimp from day one and not even be able to sleep well because the sheets hurt your skin. oh! And don’t forget to constantly hydrate.

2. DO NOT stop reading carefully what they offer you on excursions

In Cancun it is very common to be offered different boat rides or different excursions that take you to see some cenotes or other archaeological and tourist sites in the area, so it is very important that before paying anything you have it in writing which activities and stops include each ride.

A snorkeler interacts with stingrays during a snorkel excursion near the island of Moorea. The Tahitian stingrays are known by the common name of Pink whipray (Himantura fai) . It is a common practice in Tahiti to allow ray-feeding activities for tourists.,Snorkeler and Tahitian Stingrays (Himantura fai)

They offer so many tours and excursions that one can get confused or the same seller can promise things that were not included, so we strongly recommend that you make sure that all the activities or excursions to which they are committed are visible on paper when hiring.

3. Do NOT be afraid of the local bus

In the event that you do not bring your own car or decide not to rent one, you can always rely on local transport, since it is low cost and really safe. The local bus will allow you to travel within the hotel zone and downtown Cancun for the modest price of $1 USD.

You will have the opportunity to visit important places in Cancun traveling on public transport, it is easy to use, cheap and quite reliable.

4. Do NOT eat only food you have tried!

In Cancun you can find a variety of exquisite dishes prepared with exclusive ingredients from the area, believe us it is not the same to try a cochinita pibil in Mexico City than to try it directly in Cancun.

Don’t leave without trying the delicious chilmole, pipián and of course papadzul. We are sure you will love it!

5. Do NOT trust the seasons of less influx

One might think that the prices of attractions and excursions will remain low when you travel to Cancun during the low holiday season. But we are sorry to tell you that it will not always be like this, if you buy a package for an activity 30 days in advance, it will not cost less than if you buy it that same day.

If you want to get a better deal and save more on your vacations, we recommend that you purchase your tickets, packages and other items at least 2 months in advance for low season and at least 3 months for high season.

6. DO NOT rent a room or house
