For national and foreign visitors, each of the “Pueblos Mágicos” has a rich history, culture, gastronomy and natural attractions that highlight the beauty of the country.

1. Boat ride on the lake

When you arrive in downtown Valle Bravo, you will notice that there are plenty of boat tour options to choose from. The lake is really big and the views are simply spectacular. You can also choose to cool off in the lake after a long walk or to avoid the heat of the day. To take a boat tour you just need to buy a ticket from one of the booths by the bay of the lake. 2. Rent paddleboard, kayak, paddle boat or sail

Go ahead and rent a paddleboard, kayak or rowboat to cruise around the lake at your own expense. You can also sail! There are many options to navigate calmly on the water and have fun with your family. Right there on the shore of the lake there will be several lockers available so you can rent your favorite.

3. Hike to the Velo de Novia (bridal veil) waterfall near Avándaro

The Velo de Novia waterfall is a very popular body of water in Valle de Bravo, it is located near Avándaro, a town near Valle de Bravo; you will cross over some hanging wooden bridges and go down the stairs in the middle of the forest. In the end, the landscape will make the journey worthwhile. Remember to go as early as possible to avoid crowds.

4. Fly paragliding or hang gliding

Paragliding or hang gliding is one of the most popular activities you can do in Valle de Bravo in all of Mexico. This is because this destination has excellent weather and flight conditions. Book a paragliding or hang gliding tour.

5. Stroll through the town of Valle de Bravo

Something that you definitely should not miss on your next visit to Valle de Bravo is to stop walking through its different streets, visiting its charming places and discovering more about this incredible community. 6. Observe thousands of butterflies in Piedra Herrada

Visit the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary at Piedra Herrada. Every winter thousands and millions of monarch butterflies migrate from Canada to Mexico to hibernate, you can see them between November and March, however, the best month to visit and see many butterflies is in January, because the temperatures of this season are much warmer and therefore butterflies fly around.

The sanctuary is located high in the mountains, just make sure you wear the right shoes and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
