From chargers and snacks to valuables and medicines, we present an essential list to make your flight more comfortable and safe.

Traveling can be stressful, and from personal experience, it’s easy to forget everything you need when packing. At Ancana, the marketplace for fractionalized luxury vacation homes, we understand the importance of being prepared for a smooth trip. For this reason, today we will share with you a list of the 11 things that you should always carry in your hand luggage when you are ready to embark on a trip.

These 11 things are truly necessary and you’ll be glad you packed them ahead of time. Also, at the end of this article, you will find a packing list with everything you will need in your hand luggage.

Plastic bags

Have you ever gone through security, and as you’re placing your belongings on the tray to be scanned, you suddenly remember that you’re carrying your favorite body oil, hand sanitizer, or a small bottle of liquid that isn’t in a bag the size appropriate?

Or perhaps your luggage is searched and you see security destroy your shampoo bottle and throw it away. It’s frustrating, right?

Don’t let this happen to you. Be sure to bring a few extra sandwich bags with you, just in case you find yourself in this situation. You won’t realize you forgot to put something in your checked bag until it’s almost too late.

Socks

Airport floors can be gross! You’ll be glad you packed socks in your carry-on if you accidentally bring sandals or some type of shoe that doesn’t require socks, like crocs.

We don’t judge you, maybe it’s summer or you just grabbed the first pair of shoes you saw in the middle of a dream at 4 in the morning when you were leaving home to catch your flight.

Regardless of the reason, you don’t want to be the sad person walking barefoot through security, trying not to think about all the germs and dirt touching your feet!

Just thinking about it gives us goosebumps! But that won’t happen to you, because you’ve packed a pair of socks in your carry-on. We congratulate you on avoiding an unpleasant situation!

Portable charger and phone cable

Always take your phone cord and a portable charger for the plane. Have you ever noticed that you are waiting for your flight and your phone battery is almost dead? Just when you expect the entire flight to be able to listen to your favorite podcast.

Or maybe you missed your flight and you have to spend 4 hours at the airport.

Good thing you can be prepared for anything! If you are lucky enough to find an available socket at the airport you will be on the other side.

If that’s the case and you have time, try looking for an empty door, you’ll probably find some plugs available.

However, if you don’t have time and there are no plugs on your plane, you can always charge it from your portable charger!

Empty water bottle

Traveling by plane can make you very dehydrated. Personally, we think that that small glass of water you get mid-flight isn’t enough.

Water bottle

So always make sure you bring an empty water bottle in case you manage to find a drinking fountain at the airport.

Cable organizer

A person can travel with a lot of cables, such as a phone charger, an extension cord (so you can lie in bed and charge your phone), your FitBit charging cable, your laptop charger, and the charging cable for your Kindle. SO MANY WIRES!

You can assign a special pocket in your hand luggage for the bunch of cables, which could end in tragedy every time you try to get one out of that pocket.

These cable organizers will save you wasted time and energy rummaging through your pocket for cables, keeping everything neat and organized.

You can bundle your cables and keep them coiled and tidy. Seriously, we consider this a must for your carry-on.

Snacks

We love snacks. Pack a few snacks, because there’s nothing worse than having a rumbling stomach while sitting on the plane heading to your destination.

Maybe you’re looking at the menu, wondering if spending $7 on a bag of chips is worth it, or if it’ll make you bloated and you’ll have to drink a lot of water from your bottle (that you filled at the airport) before you can go swimming. when you arrive at your stay.

Or you might remember that you packed some healthy snacks in your carry-on! Hurrah!

Valuable items

Think about things like your jewelry, cash, passport, credit cards, important documents, etc.

No matter how many times you have flown before and never lost your luggage, there is always the possibility of a mishap. Better safe than sorry, as they say.

So make sure you pack all your valuables in your carry-on and keep them with you at all times.

Always carry a small bag with basic medicines in your hand luggage.

Because? Because we can’t count the number of times you might have had a headache or upset stomach while on a plane or in a new place.

Having these medicines on hand allows you to quickly relieve any discomfort and fully enjoy your trip.

Headphones

You can enjoy a much more enjoyable journey if you have your headphones with you. You can listen to music, watch movies or series, or just block out the noise of the plane and relax.

Also, if you’re lucky enough to be traveling on one of those planes with in-flight entertainment, headphones are a must to enjoy the available audio options.

Travel and reservation documents

It doesn’t matter if you are traveling within your own country or abroad, you should always carry your travel documents and your booking confirmation with you.

This includes your passport, official identification, plane tickets, boarding pass, hotel reservations, car rental confirmation, etc.

You never know when you might need to show one of these documents, be it at the airport, customs or your place of accommodation.

Something that makes you feel comfortable

Last but not least, always take something with you that will make you feel comfortable during the flight.

This could be a travel pillow, a soft blanket, a comfortable sweater or sweatshirt, thick socks, etc.

It can be hard to rest or relax on a plane, so anything that helps you feel more comfortable and rest better is a great addition to your carry-on bag.
